Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes
Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

Growing Zones 5-9
Don't settle for the same old thing when it comes to your Hydrangea plantings. You do grow Hydrangeas, don't you? If not you are missing out! The Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Let's Dance® Starlight Hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla LET'S DANCE Starlight 'Lynn') is a beautiful landscape plant that adds bright color to any garden!
Starlight is truly versatile, whether planted in masses around the garden, in a perennial shrub border, used as a specimen, or even as a hedge. It works equally well in containers and as a splendid cut flower. The lacecap blooms are romantic in bouquets and only a couple fill a vase to overflowing!
One of the best things about the Let's Dance® line of Hydrangeas is that they bloom on both old and new wood - no pruning is needed to get them to bloom! Soil pH affects the flower color - so you can change the flowers from royal blue to hot pink - it's you're choice! For blue flowers, the soil must be more acidic and for pink flowers, your soil must lean toward alkaline.
Planting and Application:
These tiny shrubs are powerhouses because of their repeat blooms! Making Starlight lovely as a facer plant in front of larger shrubs that may have gotten a bit leggy as they've gotten older. Plant a row along a fence or brighten the fronts of your home's foundation to pretty it up, or along a path or walkway to create lovey edging! These are bright pops of color for your landscape and the lacy blooms add fine texture to the garden!
These compact shrubs and their consistent repeat blooms look fantastic around seating areas and patios! Spruce up poolside or even pot up in containers and planters when space is scarce! Porch and patio plantings are also perfect locations for these bright blooms! Welcome yourself home with a pair planted at the bottom of your front steps or at the entrance of your driveway, no worry about them growing to a height that will block your view!
- Pink or Blue Mophead Blooms
- Bloom For Four Weeks Or More
- Small & Compact Size
- Lush Green Foliage That's Quilted & Serrated
- Good For Fresh Or Dried Cut Flowers, Foundation, Definition & Containers!
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Bigleaf Hydrangea does best in more sun for the most blooms and stronger stems but does appreciate afternoon shade in the hottest of their USDA growing zones 5-9. Plant Hydrangea in a well-drained site with ample organic material and moderate, yet consistent moisture access. Prune after flowering if needed but it is recommended you only prune in the very early spring to remove winter dieback. These shrubs do best in a consistent, yet moderate amount of moisture, so be sure to water in times of extreme heat and drought and apply 3-4 inches of arborist mulch over the entire root system.
- Full Sun & Partial Shade
- Moderate Moisture
- Most Organic Well-Drained Soil
- pH-Dependent Blooms
- Prune Bigleaf Hydrangea Early Spring/After Flowering
