Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes

- Age Indicators: Container size primarily indicates plant age and maturity rather than liquid volume equivalents
Growing Conditions
- Plant size can vary based on variety and growing conditions
- Container size helps indicate plant maturity and establishment level
- Larger containers generally mean more established root systems and faster landscape establishment

Adorable and unique spillers, the String of Pearls are dangling jewel-like Succulents that have plump balls of soft green leaves that cascade along slender stems. Forming white blooms that look like little paintbrushes for a touch of extra interest! There's plants look best when allowed to dangle over a container's edge or suspended in a hanging planter.
The Six Angled Kalanchoe is a wonderful, succulent plant that has upright stems and flat, scalloped plump leaves. With vibrant red undersides and red edges, these plants produce brilliantly colored four-petaled blooms once to twice a year!
Succulents and Cactus are very xeric plants and on the slower growing side. But don’t let slow growth give you a reason to be concerned - it simply translates to no maintenance and no worry for you. They will rarely outgrow their pots and planters.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
These easy-care plants need full sun to part sun to have the best growth and coloration, they will become leggy in too little light. Indoor plants need bright, indirect light or a grow light. True to their xeric nature, they need sandy, fast-draining soil and adequate measured moisture, just be sure you are not over-watering or under-watering. In fact, this type of plant prefers to dry out slightly between waterings.
However, don't worry, once you get to know your plant, its needs will be very easy to meet! Should your plants get too leggy or need a haircut, you can punch back the growth. Pinch back your Kalanchoe after it blooms to clean the plant up and encourage branching.
- Full Sun to Part Shade (Bright Indirect Light Indoors)
- Sandy Fast Draining Soil
- Low to Moderate Moisture
- Pinch Back As Needed To Encourage Branching
- Easy Care & Low Maintenance
