How to Use Crunch-A-Bunch™ Apple Tree in the Landscape

This great-tasting cultivar has been called an improved version of Goldrush Apple. Use a group of 2 or 3 different Apple varieties to cross-pollinate each other.

Use a high-density planting plan for backyard orchards, or plant them in a row 20 feet on center. Measure from the center of one to the center of the next.

Keep them tightly pruned for size control, or allow them to spread. You’ll love the spring blooms, and the lovely, yummy fruit display.

Plant Apples along the backside of your perennial or mixed shrub border. Participate in the Edible Landscape trend and work them in to a grouping to screen off the home behind yours.

You can even plant two different Apple varieties in the same hole. Use a pollination partner like Goldrush or Sweet Sixteen for pollination. It will grow to become a remarkable specimen plant.

Plant your tree in full sun. It requires at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day.

Well-drained soil is best. If you have poor drainage, build a raised bed to plant it.

Apples, and other fruiting trees, love good air circulation to help keep them clean and disease free. Don’t plant them too close to structures.

This easy-care cultivar grows well, even in the Midwest. It has been developed to have lower spray requirements.

Prune in late winter, before the new growth begins. The goals are to open up the canopy to sunlight and air flow.
