This Floribunda has very hardy in USDA growing zones 6 to 9 and only grows 2-3 feet in height on top of its 2-3 foot tall trunk for a tall accent. #ProPlantTips for Care:
Make sure Sexy Rexy™ receives lots of natural sunlight every day, Roses bloom the best, and the most, in at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day. Provide a site with good air circulation and morning sun to dry the foliage. Provide a fertile, highly organic site in well-drained soil for the best results and for the healthiest plant! Also, it's best to fertilize 2-3 times a year with Rose food. Your Rose tree appreciates a generous layer of mulch covering the soil over the root system. Mulch not only improves soil condition and levels out moisture levels and consistency, but it also insulates the roots from the chill and heat.
Rose trees love consistent, moderate moisture to do their best. Requiring little else in the way of maintenance beyond some annual pruning in the early spring, the Sexy Rexy™ Rose is disease-resistant and easy to care for!
Rose Tree Care & Pruning
Some winter protection for Tree Form Roses is suggested for the colder zones 5 and 6 and some of zone 7 too by overwintering in an unheated garage after it goes dormant, or outside with straw and burlap wrap. Then in spring, take it back out or unwrap and trim the head back to about a 12" sphere just as it begins to grow again in spring.
Early each spring, after the last frost of the year has passed, it's always a good idea to prune back the Rose tree several inches to maintain the nice round form atop its trunk. Keep new blooms returning with occasional deadheading, quickly improving your overall display.
Prune away suckers and branching that forms at the base or on the trunk each year too. Pruning Roses allows for better, bushier growth each year and stimulates new growth. Learn about winterizing, and un-wintering your Roses in our Garden Blog, plus all the tips and tricks you need when pruning your new prize Rose bush!
