Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes
Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Provide Tiny Dancer Lilac full sun, with at least six hours of direct light each day. The more sun - the more flowers! Air circulation is always a good idea for Lilacs and they must be planted in well-drained soil. Boost up your plants in an elevated planting bed, if your soil stays soggy. We recommend you give Lilacs a medium amount of water all season to protect your investment. This is especially true for shrubs grown in containers.
Add a three-inch layer of mulch over the root system. Then, pull it back away from touching the stems directly to provide proper air circulation. Use fertilizer for flowering shrubs according to the directions and avoid Lawn fertilizers which will reduce flowering, and should be kept away from your Lilac.
Prune after the blooms are done, and don't wait too long. These bloom on old wood, so trim promptly to avoid removing next year's flowers. Give these superior shrubs a place of honor in your landscape. You'll love them for a very long time, with proper care.
