Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Voluminous dark magenta-violet blooms, the Nicky Tall Garden Phlox (Phlox paniculata 'Düsterlohe') is comprised of fluffy florets packed into pyramidal-shaped terminal clusters. The sweetly scented blossoms bring in the Hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies, and many beneficial insects adore these summer delights! With some of the long-lasting blossoms lasting until Fall!

Mounds of deep-green foliage and strong stems support the tall, large tightly packed flower heads. Nicky is a gorgeous cut flower for your bouquets using those tall, sturdy stems! You'll gain a floral thriller that mixes beautifully with everything from Roses to Daisies!

Tall Garden Phlox are very easy-to-grow perennials throughout USDA planting zones 4 to 8, growing about 2-3 feet tall when in bloom and with mounds maturing 12-18 inches wide but can spread by polite underground stolons.

Landscape Application:

Tall, elegant, and dramatically dark beacons, Nicky Garden Phlox is an old-fashioned garden and border plant that is a classic landscaping flowering plant! Nicky Garden Phlox is a must-have for the middle of the mixed perennial border and adds expressive pops of color throughout the Cottage Garden! Forming tidy clumps, the vibrant blooms are phenomenal additions to Pollinator borders and Sun gardens.

These tall thrillers are incredible in containers and sun garden planters too! Perfect for the balcony gardener and patio container garden! These are easy-care plants and require very little upkeep, so don't be afraid to plant en masse and create woodland or wildflower plantings without much worry that deer will devour them!

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Phlox are best planted in full sun in cool zones but appreciate partial shade and afternoon protection in hotter climates. These herbaceous perennials appreciate good air circulation and well-drained soil. Be sure to give them supplemental water during their first year and apply water in a prolonged drought. Apply a three-inch layer of arborist mulch around your plant's base, but make sure to pull it back from the stems.

Deadhead Tall Phlox right after the blossoms fade and tidy up the mounds in late autumn after frost. While no plant is truly deer resistant, they do not prefer the taste of these plants. But, if you live in Deer Country, be sure to use Deer Repellent during planting, guided by the instructions on the label

  • Full Sun & Handles Afternoon Shade
  • Moist, Enriched Well-Drained Soil
  • Appreciates Mulched Beds
  • Deadhead For Rebloom
  • Prune Back In Late Autumn

Dark violet and fragrant, the Nicky Tall Garden Phlox will add an elegant touch to your garden beds and borders this year! But only if you hurry and order yours today at NatureHills.com!
