Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

People just love the grace of Bridalwreath Spirea shrubs and the new and improved version is a true Renaissance! Introducing the Renaissance Spirea shrub (Spiraea vanhouttei 'Renaissance'), bringing you one of the best varieties to use in your landscape! Each slender, arching branch is adorned with sweet, little, white blooms every year in early spring.

Maybe you remember them from Grandma's garden, or have seen them flowering around your town? Well, this improved cultivar of Bridalwreath offers the same gorgeous form and lovely spring show, but adds a fiery fall color display, too.

You'll also appreciate how easy-care this disease-resistant variety will be in your landscape. These are nearly "plant-them-and-forget-them" deciduous shrubs, but are far too attractive to ever forget them!

They even look wonderful in winter. The delicate wand-like branches look like a fairy tale after each one is touched by the shine of frost.

Plant these pretties where you'll see them. Renaissance is showy enough for a spot front and center in your garden design. But, it's not too proud to become a supporting actor as a backdrop for smaller plants.

Of course, you'll grow Renaissance Spirea for its wonderful springtime display. There is nothing prettier than seeing each arching, chocolate-brown branch, liberally frosted with a cascade of pristine white blooms that flow up, over and down to the ground. It's an enchanting display to be savored each year.

Why not host a romantic spring soirée to welcome the new season? The flowers shine sweetly in the moonlight, so it needn't be a daytime event. Weave a few of the long branch whips into circlet wreaths for your guests to wear on their heads as country-chic party favors. Everyone will look great on social media. Not to mention the joy that children will get from these lovely shrubs!

Plant several shrubs so you have plenty of material on hand. You'll forever be trimming branches of the small, lobed blue-green leaves of summer to include in your cut flower arrangements.

Don't forget to trim the bold, fall color foliage for your fall bouquets or to place along the length of your Thanksgiving tablescape. The colorful leaves persist for a long time on this ornamental shrub. Allow it to decorate your landscape in all seasons.

We take calls on this plant every week. Order yours today, you'd hate to miss next year's blooms.

How to Use Renaissance Spirea in the Landscape

Give this shrub plenty of space to grow to its mature height and width. It's a shame to prune that incredible fountain-shaped form down to control it.

Try a row as a lovely foundation planting or elevate the look of an existing fence. Your neighbors will bless your thoughtfulness, and so will local butterflies.

Renaissance are a great addition to any organic garden. But deer tend to leave them alone, so they are a great plant for a woodland landscape.

Plant them 3 to 5 feet apart on center. The wider apart you plant, the more open the eventual look. You'll measure from the center of one to the center of the next.

Compact Renaissance Spirea has an airy and refined appearance. Use it as a fine-textured accent throughout your planting design to tie the entire look together. It makes a charming contrast against the stalwart presence of evergreen trees and shrubs.

Their ease of care allows them to work well in commercial property plantings as well. Go ahead, use the blooms and pretty shape to catch the eyes of all who pass by.

#ProPlantTips for Care

With optimal conditions, this cold-hardy plant can be expected to live a long time. Plant it in a full sun location with well-drained soil.

Water regularly and increase the amount of water in hot, dry periods. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer like Dr. Earth Organic and Natural All-Purpose Fertilizer once in the late winter.

This particular variety is considered low maintenance and is not only more compact, but also more disease resistant than other varieties. Renaissance is tolerant of many soil types and environments.

Prune to shape right after flowering. You can even do a renewal pruning every 8 years or so by cutting it down to the ground level. It will fill back in quickly with new growth from the crown of the plant.

Enjoy this lovely, spring-blooming shrub. Fast-growing and carefree, Renaissance Spirea is an ornamental shrub that's sure to bring you years of enjoyment and beauty. Order today!
