This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Nature Hills sells a large variety of plants with several options available. Plants are offered in both potted containers and as dormant bare root without soil. Here is a helpful resource to understand your options as you create a beautiful landscape with help from Nature Hills.
Ever wonder what a larger plant will mean for your landscape? Container Sizes are really all about the age of the plant!
Seasonally, Nature Hills offers hand selected, high quality bare root trees, shrubs and perennials. Bare root plants are sold by height from the top of the root system to the top of the plant. Plants may be taller than the height minimums.

Graceful fine texture, the native Prairie Cordgrass (Spartina pectinata) is an ornamental native Prairie Grass that features arching green foliage and airy plumes/seed heads in the summer. Highly adaptable, these native plants handle moist to wet conditions, grow fast, and can grow tall!
These tough plants can react up to 4-6 feet and are taller when in bloom. These native residents of the Tall Grass Prairies are larval Host Plants for Skipper Butterflies and Tussock Moths, plus provide wildlife and songbirds nesting and shelter. The seed heads become late-season accents nearly 8 feet in height.
These warm-season Grasses are hardy throughout USDA growing zones 3 to 8 and are fantastic wetland grasses that grow well in average moisture soils too! The cream and green flowering stems turn brown in the autumn while the green foliage becomes brilliant gold!
Planting and Application:
These clumping wetland Grasses are amazing at stabilizing soil along streams and pond banks, or on moist slopes and hillsides that frequently erode due to rushing rainwater. Plant two feet apart in a zigzag pattern and within a couple years the clumps will grow together to create a solid mat.
Prairie Cordgrass is fantastic to have as backdrops to Rain Gardens and in rows and groupings around the HVAC unit drains. Create Gutter Gardens with these tall Grasses that work as both anchors by your home's hardscapes and soften corners. Mix with Rush Grass, Sedges, and wetland or marsh plants for a unique water garden!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Plant these Native Grasses in well-drained soil that remains moist, but these tough plants can handle occasional drought once established. Plant in full sun for the best height and vigor, but Cordgrass can handle some afternoon/partial shade too. These warm-season Grasses should be pruned back in the early spring to clear the way for the new growth.
