Grapevine Planting and Care

These are very easy-to-grow and adaptable Grapevines! Growing throughout USDA plant hardiness zones 5 to 9.

  • Planting: Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil. Add Nature Hills Root Booster for optimal root development.
  • Training: Use a trellis, arbor, or fence to train the vines for proper support and airflow. Prune during the dormant season to remove old wood and encourage new growth.
  • Watering: Keep soil consistently moist, especially during the first year and in dry periods.
  • Pruning: Thin out the clusters if needed to allow the fruit to develop its full size and flavor. Annual pruning ensures healthy vines and maximizes fruit production.
  • Disease Resistance: Lakemont is highly resistant to Botrytis and mildew, making it a low-maintenance choice for beginner gardeners and seasoned growers alike.
