Japanese Toad Lily
View Sizes View Details
No EXIF data is available

The Japanese Toad Lily is a late summer or early fall bloomer that is a hardy, upright “lily” that originated Japan. Its leaves may remind you of hostas, but the flowers that sprout from the leaf axils are more like small orchids, with white petals dotted in purple. The uncommon “common” name, toad lily, probably comes from the petals’ spotted complexion. The plants, which grow to be about 20” tall, are especially good for bringing color to shaded sections of the garden at a time when little else is in bloom. Click here to order Toad Lily bulbs.
