Three years ago we planted a row of Ninebark Diablos for a privacy hedge. At maturity they should be 8-10 feet in height. This spring I added a row of ornamental grasses in front of the diablos. What a nice contrast this addition has made! This fall I will cut back the grasses until they are about four inches tall. Next year I hope to have them come back even thicker and taller. Remember that grasses are slow to get started in the spring, and it takes a while for them to show their true colors!
