another picture of my dogwood.
Poor baby dogwood :) ....you said it rained alot recently...try pushing that mulch around the tree away from the trunk...I'd push it back about 12 inches all the way around....Let the sun get to the dirt thats underneath...see if that helps...you might also try adding just a tad bit of compost...very little....don't want to push too much too fast on it...This is a new baby alot of the time just planting the tree puts it into shock...if this is the case you should see the leaves fall off...unfortunately it may be next year before they reappear.....just depends if this is the issue or not....hope this helps...
