Hi, Just taking over big gardening project

I have taken over our gardening department this year.  Need some help.

Flowers are going well.  Not sure what to do at the end of the season.  Tuberous Begonias have a bulb, do they need to be pulled at the end of the season will they stand up to freezing weather under grounds?

    Any assistence would be appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Dawn

Hi Dawn and welcome! The tuberous begonias need to be dug up each fall before frost and stored in a cool well ventilated place if you live in a growing zone lower than 9 or 10. If you have pictures of your projects please consider posting them and thanks again for joining our community!

     Thank you,

What do you mean by growing zone.  I live in Northern Michigan.  Mackinaw City.

Planting/growing zones are used as a guideline to determine the hardiness and survivability of various trees and plants in geographic areas. http://www.naturehills.com/plant_zone_map.aspx.

Or you can type in your zip code in the Planting Zone Finder box on the top right corner of that page to see find you planting zone.

    Hope this helps!
