    Sorry Looking Sweet Potato Vines

I purchased some sweet potato vines from a nursery about three weeks ago and immediately planted them in my hanging planter boxes which are well-drained and have full western exposure. They're looking kind of sad with the edges turning a tad brown and the vibrant lime-green color is fading somewhat. Admittedly, the weather here in Seattle over the last three weeks has been more like January - wet, very cool (48º-58º F), and not a lot of sun getting though the cloud cover. It's finally warmed up to the high 60s/low 70s, and there are a few new leaves and trailers showing up. Questions: was it just too cold and wet to transplant them? Can they be over-watered (too much rain)? And lastly, is there any hope they'll recover?

Hello! Your sweet potato vine should pop out of its decline. they like lots of heat and sun and when that returns you should have great looking plants. They are vigorous growers and if you have good drainage in your container to much water shouldn't be a big issue. Good luck!
