    Hi... Newby here.....

Hello. I'm Hazel, living on a boat in South Carolina ...(for now).. but originally from Scotland.

Gardening on a boat - as you can imagine - is a bit limited, so I have a few small house plants, herbs etc.... I've only been in the US for 3 years and I'm still getting used to all the different potting composts etc, but getting there slow and sure.

What I'm wondering is.... I had the most gorgeous Regal Pelargonium (Geranium) back home called "Lord Bute".... would I be able to get the same plant here???

Thanks in advance of any help/advice.... or welcomes... Big Smile

Hi Hazel and welcome to our community. I have never conversed with a gardener that lives on a boat, I think that is awesome that you continue to garden while on a boat. I would love to see some pictures of your plants. The "Lord Bute" was a new plant to me. I googled it and I found some very nice pictures. You are correct when you described the plant as gorgeous! I will put our some emails to colleagues to see if anyone is growing that plant in the USA. Again, welcome and we look forward to your posts.

Hello and Welcome to the Forum, Hazel.

I know how wonderful boat-life can be. I have spent 2 years living on a boat myself, but these days I prefer Terra firma. It's just nice to have a bit of a garden and a bit more living space in general...

Look forward to your posts and photos....

     Kind regards, Maria
