We live in northern CA. We planted 16 Emerald Green Thuja as a privacy fence in early May of this year. In the last 30 days they have started to turn brown one by one. Half of them are brown with some green on the outside. We've tried adjusting the water, we fertilized I don't know whether to dig them up, put them back in their original containers, prune the dead branches and see if they will revive themselves, leave them in the ground and do some serious pruning, we are at a total loss about what to do.
