Bright Gold is the color of this Dwarf Sunjoy Gold Beret Barberry Bush. This low mounding bush not only has beautiful color but can fill a small area with its compact size. It matures from 6 to 12 inches tall and will spread from 6 to 12 inches wide giving it a decorative mounding shape. This is the first upright golden Barberry that has red new growth in the spring, in the summer the foliage will turn to a bright gold and in fall it will have orange-red foliage. The bush will give you lots of interest in your landscape all year round. It can be planted in front of a border or used to give color to other areas on its own or among other plants.

The Sunjoy requires full sun to get the best foliage coloring. It can tolerate some shade but you will be giving up foliage color. It needs dry to medium soil that is well-drained. Sunjoy is very adaptable to pollutants and has some tolerance to drought conditions. Another advantage is that it is burn resistant. This bush is a slow grower but well worth the wait. It grows from zone 4 to zone 10 making it a very hardy bush. For a plant that will get lots of attention in your garden whether on its own or mixed with other plants or planting several together in one area, you will enjoy it season after season.

Fire Chief Arborvitae's Are Tipped In Red

The Fire Chief Arborvitae is quite a sight to see with it's green foliage that is tipped in red. It is an evergreen shrub that will have foliage that will last all year round. In order to make sure you will have the reddish colored foliage, you will want to make sure that the shrub gets full sun. If planted in a shady area, the foliage will stay green. If your environment has very hot summers, it would help the bush to have some light afternoon shade. It does have good resistance from sun burning and in the winter from winter burning. This evergreen will grow from 3 to 5 feet tall and spread from 3 to 4 feet wide.

Not only does it provide colorful and attractive ornamentation, it also provides food and shelter for wildlife. It is known to be used as shelter by white-tailed deer, snowshoe hares and porcupines as well as birds. The Fire Chief is hardy from zones 3 to 7 so has good cold hardiness. It has a medium growth rate, not too slow, not too fast. Soil should be moist and well-drained loam although it is tolerant of other soils. You will not want to let the soil dry as it is intolerant of the dry conditions. This is one of the best evergreen arborvitae varieties for its originality and beauty.

This Pepper Is A Red Ace

Like most peppers, this Red Ace requires moderately moist well drained soil and full sun. It is hardy from zone 3 to zone 9. This is a high yielding pepper that is harvested in the summer and it turns a beautiful red earlier than most peppers. Almost every blossom will produce a pepper. If you like fresh peppers, growing them yourself will give you the freshest and tastiest peppers than store bought. They will also save you money at the grocery.

That makes the mess that the typical Sweet Gum fruits can make in your yard go away.

This tree's leaves are star shaped and dark green. The fall color is spectacular as it turns to a burgundy red. The bark of the tree has what has been described as "corky extrusions" which will give you winter interest as well. It's shape is Pyramidal and it has a good central leader. Over time it will become more oval shaped. This would be a great tree for you if you like Sweet Gums but don't want the mess.
