If you don't like dealing with seeds and want an extremely flavorful grape, the Concord Seedless Grape Vitis 'Concord Seedless' is the one for you. It is similar to the Concord but a bit smaller size grape with the same blue-black coloring of the seeded Concord with lots of flavor, vigor and productivity as well. This Concord seedless grape makes a very good pie grape as well as typically eaten fresh and in salads and many desserts, jams, jellies and juices. The fruit ripens in late September.
The mature height of the Concord Seedless is 12 to 15 feet and will spread from 3 to 4 feet. As like most fruits it requires moist, well drained soil. The grapes will need to be supported on a trellis, arbor, fence or wall. Grape vines are often considered ornamental with their curling and twisting trunks. The Concord Seedless has white flowers before the blue-black fruit ripens, and in the fall after you have done your summer harvesting of the grapes, the vines will still be attractive. Grapes are very healthy for you and you can save lots of money at the store or farmers market by growing your own. Plus, you only have to step into your garden to obtain them!
